Interview with new group Tiffany Affair.
Jody Breeze is featured on their single "Start a
Fire."
Ayanna, I noticed at the end of your little bio it
said you are trying to get in as many classes as possible
before the record is finished and the tour starts. Are
you taking college classes or are you still in high school?
Ayanna- No, I graduated
from college last year in 2005 so right now I'm actually
in my sophomore year of college.
What are you studying?
Ayanna-Sports medicine.
How did you all end up hooking up with Jody Breeze for
the first single?
Well we were trying to think of who would sound really
good on that single and we knew he was doing a lot of
mix tape work and Boyz In The Hood were really poppin
at the time. We were like "Jody Breeze would be a
good candidate for the record." He did his verse
and it came out real good.
Bianca, I see you have a strong background in dance do
you get to collaborate with the choreographer when you
all are working on your routines for the show?
Bianca-Oh definitely.
I get to give a few of my ideas with the choreography.
Sometimes if they suggest something I may add a little
flare or give the choreographer a few ideas and we'll
all end up doing it. I always like to play along with
ideas.
I have a question for Natasha.
She's not here. Natasha is sick.
Are you finished recording the new album?
We're not done yet but we're really, really close.
I just know what I read in the press release so I never
really know how groups form. Were you all friends and came
together or did somebody put a group together?
Well we were actually all in school together and in elementary
school we went to school together. We were all in choirs
and always walking around singing and that's actually how
we all became friends. So later on when we decided we wanted
to do this professionally we decided that we wanted to go
through this whole experience together.
What have you all been doing this summer?
This summer we have choosing the outfits for our video and
doing a lot of choreography for our video and live show.
We've been doing more recording and practicing and recording
that has been our main thing a lot of practicing. A lot
of sweating. A lot of work.
Here is a question for Gabrielle. I see you have a strong
interest in fashion do you have a lot on input as far as
the groups styling?
Well everyone has their own flavor and twist. I try to help
everyone and I love fashion. Even if it's like accessorizing,
we always make sure everyone is comfortable in what they
are wearing and everyone looks good.
Have you been doing any promo shows?
That is actually what we have been preparing for so we are
going to be doing that very soon.
Before you all had record deals did any of you aspire to
be on a show like American Idol?
Bianca-I was thinking
about it.
What's the hardest part about being a new artist?
Honestly its been hard and rough because it's taking a lot
of work. When you first start it's kind of like "Wow,
I didn't know it was going to be this much work." But
because it's something you actually like doing it's not
like its actually work. We have to stay on top of our game.
Keeping people interested is the hardest part of me.
