Official Blurb-
In 1942, Nat King Cole was one of the first artists to
sign with Capitol Records. Cole recorded over 150 charting
singles on the Pop, R&B and Country charts, a staggering
record that remains unbroken by any other artist ever
signed to the label, which led to Capitol becoming known
as The House That Nat Built. At the time of
his death in 1965, it was reported that Capitol Records
had sold over nine million Nat King Cole records. Coles
catalog continues to sell in excess of one million albums
per year around the world.
Marking the 40th Anniversary of Coles passing
in February 1965, Capitol/EMI will release The World
Of Nat King Cole, a newly-compiled, career-spanning
single CD collection of 28 re-mastered Cole classics,
on January 25. This compilation complements the groundbreaking
documentary which is set to be nationally televised
in February. The documentary will be released as a limited
edition CD/DVD set and features notable stars such as
Whoopi Goldberg, Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, Andre
3000 of Outkast, Harry Connick Jr. and many more.

Review of The World of Nat King Cole
The World of Nat King Cole is a really great CD. Being
that I am in my twenties, I admit, the most I knew about Nat
King Cole musically was "Mona Lisa" and "Unforgettable,"
but The World of Nat King Cole CD opened up a whole new
world of Nat King Cole Music to me. I found that songs like
"Straighten Up and Fly Right" and "(Get Your
Kicks On) Route 66" songs that have been remade and included
in commericals were songs sung by the King Cole Trio. The music
on this CD is so pop and upbeat. The sounds of the horns come
alive through your speakers especially on songs like "Day
In-Day Out." Other songs I enjoyed were "L-O-VE,"
"Too Young," and "Thou Swell." I enjoyed
the whole CD to tell you the truth and so did my kids. This
is timeless music. The CD iteself includes 28 Nat King Cole
songs, including the duet with his daughter Natalie, "Unforgettable."
This is a great collection at a great price.
