Lil Scrappy is back with his single "Money
In The Bank" featuring Young Buck. Album Bred
to Die, Born To Live coming soon.
The number one question everyone wants to know is are
you down with G-Unit?
Lil Scrappy-Yes, I
am.
After the success of "No Problem" were you anxious
to put out your album?
Lil Scrappy-I was
definitely anxious. I had a compilation out with Trillville
and I was actually trying to put out another single with
that but they wouldn't give me another single. But after
they didn't give me another single I was definitely ready
to put out a real album.
So are you considering this your first real album?
Lil Scrappy-Basically,
it is.
Cause I read somewhere the other thing was considered
an EP.
Lil Scrappy-Yeah an
EP that was a compilation.
What have you been doing besides working on the album?
JLil Scrappy-ust taking
care of my little girl. Going through good days, going
through bad days just living life. In the streets.
Are you still based out of Atlanta?
Lil Scrappy-Yeah.
I was reading in the bio about how you grew up in a rough
part of Atlanta. Obviously, now you shouldn't have to
live in the rough part. How different is it being in the
city being more affluent than it was when you were growing
up?
Lil Scrappy-Atlanta
used to be straight country. It used to be a little city
because it's a small city but its still Down South it's
in the country. It has got better since the Olympics have
came out and we got Mike Vick and the entertainment start
moving up, the property tax is so low so people start
moving down there so it's gotten bigger.
Do you ever hit up the clubs down there?
Lil Scrappy-All the
time I'm an Atlanta baby that's all we do.
I was reading the press release and I read that you
worked with Lil Jon and 50 Cent as producers. How different
working with both of them?
Lil Scrappy-Working
with Jon on my first album it was a kinda rush for the
compilation but this time it was like I want to learn
as much as I can and do my thang at the same time. First
I had a little situation when I used to get around them
the most powerful shit in the world but then I had to
calm down like "I just gotta do me." That's
what they accepted.
What can you tell me about the new album?
Lil Scrappy-The new
album, Bred to Die, Born To Live, it's crazy, it's
all about my life. It's like a movie to it but its on CD.
I got party songs on there, I got crunk songs on there,
I got everything on there. My group Geez Up, Pooh Baby,
Lil Chris, Buck on there, 50, I got Jon, Fabo from D4L,
I got Triple Six on there, who else I got on there
.I
got a lot of people on there, I got Olivia. It's crazy.
My favorite song is "Like Me," and that's only
because it tells the story about some of my life and some
of my experiences and it's telling them, "I know you
wanna ride like me, I know you wanna be like me, but you
don't want to go through the pain and the struggle I endure."
When you have an album with that many guest artists how
do you go about controlling leaks and making sure nothing
gets out before it's supposed to?
Lil Scrappy-I mean you
just gotta be talented because if some of it gets out you
have to be ready to go make some more. Half of my album
has been on mix tapes but shit who gives a fuck.
I heard the song "Money In The Bank," and I
talk to so many young artists I have to ask. Do you actually
save money in the bank?
Lil Scrappy-Hell yeah!
I got a little girl. At first I used to go bonkers with
it but now I've slowed down.
You worked with so many artists on this album is there anyone
else out there you want to work with?
Lil Scrappy-I can't
wait for the day I get to work with people like Alicia Keys,
I told Common I can't wait for us to get to work. I can't
wait to work with Jay-Z. I just want to work more with 50
and Jon a lot of people whoever.
A lot of artists are doing reality shows will we ever
see a Lil Scrappy reality show?
Lil Scrappy-Well I got
a TV show that is about to come out pretty soon called G's
Up TV. It's gonna be all over the Internet, it's going to
be out on DVD, its going to be out on TV so we'll see if
they like it. It's some real shit. I wouldn't call it a
reality show, it's just some real shit.
Do you ever have a chance to get on the Internet?
Lil Scrappy-Oh yeah,
yeah I do my little Myspace now and then.
Why don't you ever smile in pictures?
Lil Scrappy-I do smile
now.
Why don't they ever send me the pictures with you smiling?
They always send out the tough pictures I want to see the
smiling pictures?
Lil Scrappy-I don't
know why they do that. I guess cause it's the most serious.
A lot of people always see me smile so I would like to put
out the serious side of me too.
