O by Omari Grandberry
Omari (also known as Omarion) Grandberry is a talented solo artist and the former lead singer of the multi-platinum boy band B2K. B2K disbanded at the height of their success. The group had a movie set to premiere and they were in the midst of a very popular tour when it all ended. Omari stayed in the game and has been more high profile than the rest of the group members. His single "Oh," is in heavy rotation on radio and on video outlets. At the ripe old age of 20 Omari has released an autobiography. The book O details his life from early childhood to now. The book is full color and is of such a nice quality it appears it could be a collectors edition or a tour guide. This book is a must have for the B2K or Omari fan. It is chock full of pictures. TommyLand by Tommy Lee with Anthony Bozza
Rocker Tommy Lee is a pop culture icon. It is not often that a groups drummer emerges as a bigger household name than the lead singer. Tommy Lee’s career began as the drummer for Motley Crue. Motley Crue was one of the biggest rock groups of the 80’s with a string of hit songs like “Girls, Girls, Girls” and “Home Sweet Home.” It was their 1989 album Dr. Feelgood that really put Motley over the top. The album spawned the hit songs, “Dr. Feelgood,” “Without You,” “S.O.S.,” “Don’t Go Away Mad,” and “Kickstart My Heart.” Tommy is as well known for his musical accomplishments as he is his high profile relationships. Tommy was married to actress Heather Locklear for most of the 80’s. His star really rose when he married Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson at the height of her career. Tommy has had a string of famous girlfriends-including Mayte Garcia-Prince’s ex-wife.

The book Tommyland is a very candid look into Tommy’s life. Although, Anthony Bozza played an important role in the writing of the book, the voice of the book is all Tommy Lee. The book is really exciting and once you start reading it, it will be hard to put it down. Continue reading review

Azucar Moreno by Shelley Halima Thabiz.com review
For the record, Azucar Moreno has nothing to do with the latin pop group of the same name. Azucar Moreno is the story of a young biracial Michigan woman named Nikki. Nikki's life is filled with wonderful animated characters. Written in first person, Nikki takes readers on a journey that includes her very animated cousin Rosie who is described as looking like a Hispanic version of Cindy Crawford. Rosie had a turbulent youth and is now a rather mixed up bi-sexual adult who Nikki feels obligated to. The two women are cousins but often tell people they are sisters. Like many mid-twentysomethings Nikki has high career aspirations and drama in the dating department. Azucar Moreno is a delightful book. Although written in first person, it seemed to have an enourmous amount of dialogue, so much so that at times I felt like I really didn't know Nikki as well as I knew Rosie or the other characters. Some chapters had introspection and setting up the scene at the beginning of the chapter and at the end, and the middle completly filled with dialogue, often leaving the reader wanting to know more about the setting and about Nikki's feelings about certain things. Azucar Moreno would make a great film. If Alison Anders (Gas, Food Lodging, Mi Vida Loca, Sugartown) ever decides to do romantic comedy this would be a good book to film adaption. The character Odell reminded me of the Jesse Borreo's role in the movie I Like It Like That. With it's latin flair and urban charm, Azucar Moreno is the perfect book for the twenty or thirtysomething looking for a light read. Shelley really has a fresh new voice and her future works are anticipated.

Review of The Wendy Williams Experience by Wendy Williams
The Wendy Williams Experience is focused on Wendy's radio career and her infamous celebrity interviews whereas Wendy's Got The Heat is more of an autobiography. This book focused to much on one person-Puffy/P. Diddy or whatever he calls himself now. I truly feel that Wendy is more focused on Puffy than anyone else in the entertainment industry. A good third of the book is dedicated to Puffy or people with ties to the mogul. She has one chapter which is a short chapter discussing their past beef. Wendy claims that she likes his clothing like Sean John and respects him as a business man. One longer chapter in the book is the transcript of Wendy's exclusive interview with Misa Hylton-Brim, the mother of Puffy's first born son Justin. This is a rather interesting interview to read as Misa gives the details on the early days of her relationship with Puffy and then she discusses how Kim Porter (Puffy's second baby's mom) and her were friends at one time. There is ALSO a chapter dedicated to an interview with Puffy's limo driver who was a part of the whole J-Lo, Shyne, club incident with Puff.

The book is too heavy on Puffy. There are so many other moguls who it would have been nice for Wendy to dish about such as Dame Dash, Jay Z, Jermaine Dupri or even Russell Simmons. The book also includes the full transcript of Wendy's interview with Whitney Houston. The other chapters are very content thin, but there is an interesting chapter that offers advice on how to make a come up as a baby's mom. As with Wendy's Got The Heat, Wendy also devotes a good portion of the book to her infamous advice. I enjoyed the book and will continue to read Wendy's books.
