So the album is coming out.
B.G.-
May
24th.
This is your third album on Koch. Do you ever take
breaks between albums or are you always working on the
next thing?
B.G.-
I mean always working, ya know what I'm sayin'? I have
a whole nother' album ready.
B.E.T. just had their Spring Bling down in Florida.
Did you make it down there?
B.G.-No,
I didn't make it. I had some things to do and other
things I was working on.
You just shot your video?
B.G.-It's
already on TV. As a matter of fact it was on 106 and
Park yesterday as the new joint of the day. It's about
to go into full rotation this week.
So now you are doing promo and waiting for the album
to drop?
B.G.-I
go out May 7th I start my promotional tour.
So you are going to be some of everywhere huh?
B.G.-
Where are you at?
Virginia Beach
B.G.-Oh
I think I am coming to Virginia I have to look at the
calendar.
So you have the Chopper City Boyz on the album,
who else do you have on the album?
B.G.-Really,
I didn't want to go out of my clique this time. I kept
all of my features in house, push my label and my artists.
So you have your own label, who are some of your artists?
B.G.-I
have my little brother Kizzle, (inaudible), Snipe and
my little partner Mike.
So are you B.G., B-Gizzle, or both?
B.G.-I'm
both.
I was listening to the audio clip that was playing in
the background while I was on hold. I am sure you know
the lyric better than me but you mentioned something
like you have done 9 or 10 albums and are nowhere near
finished. How long have you been rapping?
B.G.-
Since I was 12 or 13.
You got your start with Cash Money. Was it hard for
you to leave them? It seems like you all were such a
family.
B.G.-
I mean yeah but you know it was time to step up and
man up and they wasn't breaking bread so I had to do
what I had to do.
Do you ever have the opportunity to record with
any of the former or current Cash Money artists?
B.G.-I
mean Mannie Fresh, he is going to produce on my next
album. I don't have a problem with nobody, just Baby
I want my money.
Is there anything musically that you would like
to do that you haven't done?
B.G.-
There are a lot of things. I don't know off hand but
there are a lot of things. I have a lot of visions and
a lot of goals.
What is a day in the life of B-Gizzle like? What
do you do? On a regular day, not when you are busy doing
promo.
B.G.-I
just be chillin. I might ride through the hood. I might
be inside playing the Play Station. I might be in the
studio.
What games do you play on Play Station?
B.G.-
John Madden.
Do you play Grand Theft Auto?
B.G.-A
little bit, but I am into that football and that boxing.
I played Grand Theft Auto a little bit but I am best
at that John Madden.
Do you have any female artists on your label that you
are putting out?
B.G.-No,
not yet.
I was looking at the press release. Now is Chopper
from the Chopper City Boyz the same Chopper that used
to be on No Limit?
B.G.-
Nah. So it's another Chopper. None of them are on my
label.
There is another Chopper. I remember that Chopper that
was on Making The Band, but he is Young City now.
B.G.-
Yes.
Are you going out on tour this summer?
B.G.-I
go out on promo tour May 7th, then I am going on the
Heart of the Streetz tour. I will wait until the album
gets hot and I start the second single. I will be doing
a lot of spot dates but I will be headlining my own
tour come summer.
Do you have any ideas about what will be the second
single?
B.G.-
Not yet, I am going to let the streets pick it.
Have you done any movies yet?
B.G.-
No, not yet. I am going to do a movie based on my life
story and then I am going to make a movie called like
in Chopper City.
When you were growing up what rappers were you influenced
by?
B.G.-Tupac,
Ghetto Boyz, Scarface, UGK, 8-Ball and MJG
What are your short term goals as an artist?
B.G.-
Shit, I just wanna make sure that me and my children
as set for life and I want to blow my label up and turn
Chopper City into what I helped turn Cash Money into.
Speaking of kids, do your kids get excited to see you
on TV?
B.G.-
Yeah, my son is getting kind of used to it.
Do you ever get online and check out your website and
see what the fans are saying?
B.G.-Yeah, yeah. I will be in here bored and I'll do
that.
Well it was nice talking to you.
B.G.-Same here baby.
